Creamy vanilla oats

These creamy vanilla oats are the perfect way to start the day. This simple and quick breakfast is high in tummy-loving fibre, calcium for bone health, iron for energy and manganese to support the brain and nervous system. The addition of chia seeds to this recipe provides a source of essential omega-3 fatty  acids.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oats
1 cup milk of choice (fortified if plant based)
2 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp pure maple syrup
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract (alcohol free)

Method:
Step 1: Add oats, milk, chia seeds and vanilla to a microwave-safe bowl or stove-pot.
Step 2: Whisk until combined.
Step 3: Microwave on high for 2 minutes or cook on stovetop for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
Step 4: Allow to stand for 10 minutes to cool before stirring through maple syrup (optional) before spooning into Subo bottle and serving.
