High Protein Smoothie

This High Protein Smoothie recipe was created by Luka McCabe from Boob to Food. You can watch her make it in action here!

This smoothie is a simple, wholesome way to pack protein and fibre into your toddler’s day — without any protein powders but packs a whopping 28g of protein per serve! Made with whole foods to keep them satisfied until the next meal (hopefully!) and is a great one for you to share too!

Difficulty: Easy | Serves: 2 Subo bottles | Prep: 5-10 mins

Ingredients:

2 frozen bananas
1-2 medjool dates or swap for 1-2 tsp honey
350ml milk (I used BONSOY as its high protein)
1 handful of ice
1/2 cup greek yoghurt (swap for coconut for plant based or omit)
1-2 tbsp peanut butter or nut butter of choice
1 tbsp cacao powder or carob
2 tbsp hemp seeds
1 cup tinned chickpeas drained and rinsed

Method:
1. Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender.

2. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

3. Adjust thickness if needed - add a splash more milk for a thinner consistency.

4. Pour into your Subo Food Bottles using your Subo Funnel.

5. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later. Shake before serving if settled.
